SPENCER CLINE HAMRICK

Photo: "Playing guitar with Warren, Travis, and Meredith on the infield at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama"

My name is Spencer Hamrick, and I am the third of four brothers. I have two older brothers (Jason & Leif) and one younger brother (Miles). I am a graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. I graduated with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. I currently work for Caterpillar in Torreon, Mexico. Torreon is located in north central Mexico in the state of Coahuila. Click here to see a map. You may need to zoom out a couple times to situate yourself.

I enjoy playing my acoustic guitar, an Alvarez. I have been playing since I got my first guitar for Christmas in 1997. I also enjoy playing the piano and have been playing it since before I can remember. I mostly play country music, but I enjoy most all types of music.

Also I enjoy snow skiing. Below are some pictures of a trip to Salt Lake City in January 2005 with a couple friends from work. Some of the views were awesome from the top of the mountains there. The first couple could pass for postcards!!

I also enjoy NASCAR as well. I have been going to races since I was teenager. I have been to maybe 50 or 60 races, but about half of those have been at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, shown below in panorama before The Winston in 2005. Below is a picture of myself helping change tires at Daytona USA museum. I am the jack man, my college roommate Warren Cooper is the front tire changer, and my college roommate Jason Grier (not pictured) is the rear tire changer.

I am a big duck hunter. I hunt mostly on the coast of NC near Hyde County. Several friends and I are co-owners of a little duck shack. When I was NC resident, I could be counted on to be a weekend resident of Hyde County. This was a great morning snapshot of my friend Warren putting out decoys.

I also enjoy hanging out with friends. Here are some pictures of me and my good friend Lissy during a trip with her family to Ocean Isle Beach. We were infected with laughter by our Giggling Mackerel visors, bought at The Giggling Mackerel in Ocean Isle. Also I can't forget Martin and Julia. This was a photo of us at an Alan Jackson concert just before I moved to Mexico. They were my old neighbors and we became very good friends. Also in that photo was the unborn Marlee Beam, their baby girl. I have lots of other friends, but I don't have good pictures of them. This will be a work in progress to get them all included here.

Also some pics of mis amigos de Mexico. The first picture was a trip we took to a small oasis in the middle of the Chihuahua Desert called Cuatrocienegas. The second picture was taken at Mazatlan, Mexico on the Pacific Coast. We were standing in front of the Senor Frog's store.

While in Mexico, I have been able to take several trips, my personal favorite being Cabo San Lucas with my brother, Leif. We drove the trip and took a ferry from mainland Mexico to La Paz. The first photo below is off the stern of the ferry upon our arrival to Baja. The second picture is La Paz and the third photo shows a picture of the famous Arch at the tip of Baja California.

My parents came to visit in October 2005 and we drove to Zacatecas. The first few pictures are in Torreon at my house, at the house of my Spanish teacher, Amalia Cobos, and a picture of mama and daddy at the base of the Cristo de Las Noas statue here in Torreon.

We spent the weekend in Zacatecas and saw some Aztec ruins while we were there.
